 About Us
Desert Trails Horsemanship is an instructional riding lesson program for children and adults located in south east Chandler, Arizona, and established in 2005. Our primary goal is to teach horse handling SAFETY, and learning to enjoy horses in a fun, comprehensive setting. Our horseback riding lessons and horsemanship classes allow students to build skill upon skill, and progress at their own pace. This proven program provides a solid foundation, including learning to handle the horse from both the ground and in the saddle, properly groom and saddle the horse, and the basics of balanced seat riding in the Western or hunter/jumper discipline.
Instructor: Christina Semerad 602-384-3789 "I have over 30 years experience in riding, training, showing, teaching lessons, and running boarding stables. I learned to ride and show hunter/jumpers under some of the best trainers in the Northwest, including Jeff Cook (featured trainer in several recent issues of Practical Horseman magazine), Brad Laird, Lee Jorgensen, and Joan Curtin. After graduating from high school, I attended Meredith Manor Horsemanship College in West Virginia, majoring in Equine Science, and then Oregon State University. I have participated in many Hunter/Jumper clinics over the years, taught by current Olympic USET Coach George Morris, and author/trainer Judy Richter, among others. I started my professional horse training career at age 18, and began teaching riding lessons at age 23. I have taught many riders, toddlers to adults, beginners to advanced, from rodeo cowboys to dressage riders, the basics of riding english, western, and jumping, as well as judging horse shows and giving riding clinics myself. I have now been in Arizona for 14 years."
